Bay Tree Bookstore: source for
textbooks, course readers, and class material

General Information

The bookstore is temporarily closed to walk-in shopping during the shelter in place order for Santa Cruz County. Online orders can be picked up at the will-call window. The Express Store (convenience store) will remain open but will follow stringent physical distancing guidelines and will limit the number of individuals allowed inside the store at any time.

Free UPS Ground Shipping for All Online Orders

In an effort to support the student community as the campus makes the temporary transition to extend options for remote instruction in response to COVID-19, the Bay Tree Bookstore will be offering free UPS ground shipping on any order, no code required. This includes all online orders for textbooks, supplies, computers, and technology products.

The Bookstore has also increased the variety of general office supplies, testing supplies, art supplies, and notebooks that are available to order online.

Computers and Technology

The Bay Tree Bookstore offers competitive education pricing on Apple & Dell computers to help you work as efficiently as possible.

Textbooks, Course Readers, and E-Books

Students may place orders for textbooks online here and can "will-call" their orders in the bookstore at their convenience. In-store pick-ups will also include a free reusable Bay Tree Bookstore shopping bag.

Course readers are available for order online, as either the standard printed readers or as downloadable digital readers. Printed readers can be picked up on the same “will-call” basis as regular textbooks, or they can be shipped for free via UPS ground (see above).

Please note that the Bay Tree Bookstore offers many digital textbook titles online, and students can view the available digital options alongside traditional textbooks in the online store.

COPYING AND PRINTING:
UCSC COPY CENTER, ITS LABS, OR LIBRARIES

Students on campus who need to print or copy can do so through the UCSC Copy Center, located in Baskin Engineering, room B25 (in the basement just off the loading dock).

They are open M-F, 8am-4:30pm, charge 6¢ per printed/copied side in black and white or 39¢ per printed/copied side (check pricing) in color, and automatically bill through the student’s SBS account.

They are open to walk-in customers BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, in order to ensure staff and customers follow required social distancing guidelines. Students need to contact Cary at 831-459-3381 to arrange an appointment to drop off or pick up their order.

Students should email their print job requests (including their student ID number), along with their files to copy@ucsc.edu.

Students MUST make an appointment to bring their copy jobs to the Copy Center.

The Copy Center will notify students when their order is ready and schedule an appointment for pickup.

Students can also print in campus computer labs and at both libraries, when they are open. They are also charged, at 12¢ (black and white) or 35¢ (color) per electronic page, and they also automatically bill through the student’s SBS account.
